Crimson GEARs

Girls in Engineering And Robotics

In 2017, Stuti Arora, a Crimson Robotics team member created Crimson Robotics GEARs within Team 2526, aimed to inspire all girls from elementary to high school into actively engaging with STEM.

Time and time again, data shows that girls lose confidence in their STEM abilities and interests after 5th grade. GEARs hopes to reach out and help young girls gain more confidence in their STEM capabilities. Additionally, we hope to support and empower Crimson Robotics’ current girl members.

Strive and Thrive in STEM Panel

In December, the Crimson GEARs hosted the “Strive and Thrive in STEM” Panel with 4 women technology leaders representing big tech companies  in the Twin Cities. Our panelists were Tara Beyers (Target), Maddie Malone (Land O’ Lakes), Julie Wright (Optum), and Becca Cohn (General Mills).  The event was attended by girls ranging from third grade to sophomore year in college and was very well received! We hope to have another event soon!

A hearty thank you to all of our volunteers at the event! And a huge thank you to Nothing Bundt Cakes for donating delicious bundtinis for the event!
